Brodie Castle is preparing to welcome visitors to our fascinating Shrubbery beyond daylight hours.
Starting on Wednesday 4 November and running each Wednesday and Friday until 18 December, there’ll be an exciting and newly created feature – an illuminating experience! Brodie Illuminated will take visitors along illuminated pathways, which will highlight individual plants that may go unseen during daylight, showing the Shrubbery’s stunning plant collection in a whole new light.
The visual experience of a walk around the Shrubbery during daytime offers a wealth of beautiful vegetation, but often it can be difficult to appreciate individual plants. At night, careful application of small amounts of light gives us the chance to reveal these plants in a way that’s impossible during the day. We hope this newly created experience will inspire visitors to look more closely at the fantastic range and diversity of foliage, flowers, colours, shapes and sizes of plants within the Shrubbery.
Developed by the gardening team, the light shows will run on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3.30pm until 8.30pm, with the last entry being at 7pm. Visitors can arrive at any time between 3.30pm and 7pm. It is free entry for children under 3.
Add to the visual experience by finishing the tour with warming and welcome refreshments, including delicious hot chocolate, from our Castle Café for a truly memorable visit.
