Looking to become healthier and fitter with your dog? Join Cani-fit at Culzean Dog Jamboree for a taster session of Canicross.
Canicross is the sport of dog-powered cross country running. Dogs are harnessed and attached to their owner to allow them to run in a team. The owner is the driver and directs the dog from behind with voice commands. Canicross is not only a great way to develop human and canine fitness but it also works the dog’s mind and allows them to use their brain in a work mode.
Cani-fit will take you and your dog around the woodland trails of Culzean, demonstrating Canicross and some elements of Cani-hike.
This event is suitable for those able to power walk and willing to jog and get a little muddy. Dogs must be over 12 months old, fit and able to take part in running activities. The session is suitable for owners 10 years and over. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (adult must also be attached to go for safety).
Date: Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August
Time: 10.30–11.30am (15 minutes harness fitting, 40/45 minutes Canicross)
Location: Begin at the Cani-fit Gazebo located at the Swan Pond
