Who were the Scottish suffragists and suffragettes and what did they do?
Join Robert Gordon University’s Professor Sarah Pedersen, author of ‘The Scottish Suffragettes and the Press’, to learn more about peaceful campaigning and militant action, and the contribution of Scotland’s women to the fight for the vote.
Sarah will explore the history of women’s suffrage movement in Scotland, from the establishment of the Edinburgh National Society for Women’s Suffrage in the 1870s to the force-feeding of a suffragette in Calton Jail in 1914.
